First, watch this short video from eHawaii explaining the process and requirements for applying for and obtaining your Hawaii marriage license.
Next, go to the Hawaii Electronic Marriage and Civil Union Registration System, and start the application. License application fee to be paid by the couple. Application will ask for a performer, please enter Lawrence Altshul, commission #- 2015-08469
After you fill out the online application you will need to meet with an Authorized License Agent. Scroll down to the agents listed for the Big Island. ($5.00 issuance fee required to be paid by the couple). You will want to contact the agent to set up a mutually convenient time to meet. Agent will also want my name, Lawrence Altshul, commission #-2015-08469.
Finally, bring the two copies of the license application that the authorized license agent gives to you, to the ceremony. We will sign both copies taking one and giving you the other copy. After the ceremony, we validate the ceremony. You will be notified by e-mail within 5-business days, with instructions on how to print a copy of your temporary certificate. A certified certificate will be mailed to the address listed on the application within 30 days.
